Paul Dines co-founded the closely-held firm DIGI 7 as a vehicle to reinvest and continue the legacy of smaller companies. With passion and an entrepreneurial spirit, he created the original DIGI, Inc., in 1990, and led the purchase of two manufacturing companies—one a leader in the transportation sector and the other in HVAC/R.

 

His background includes over 60 years of manufacturing experience and over 30 years of investing in, and operating privately held companies. Paul launched his career working for several large publicly traded companies—with positions ranging from apprentice to divisional president—and has held senior manager/board positions in privately held companies serving a variety of industry segments. One of his current investments is a multinational manufacturer of self-serve products.

Paul, along with his son Mark, have been integrally involved in over 15 buy-side acquisitions, including bolt-on and integration. These transactions occurred in the USA, Canada and United Kingdom, and were either owner retirements, private equity exits, ESOP unwinds, corporate carve outs or USA Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection exits.  

 

Paul is a dual citizen of the USA and UK, educated as an industrial engineer at General Motors Vauxhall Division (UK).
